Battersea Dog’s Home

London, Paris, Milan and now Battersea. The world’s top designers are facing an exciting new challenge. Used to dressing super models, fashions biggest names are now turning their attention to the homeless hounds at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home

Inspired by some of the most overlooked dogs in the iconic rescue centre’s care, a stellar list of fashion and jewellery designers are creating bespoke dog coats, collars, and leads to be auctioned off to raise vital funds for the charity.

We were among the list of in iconic designers taking part in the fashion dog walk – Jeff Banks, Jasper Conran, Ben De Lisi, Lulu Guinness, Jeremy Hackett, Julien MacDonald, Bruce Oldfield, Jenny Packham, Trevor Pickett, Richard Quinn, Christopher Raeburn, Zandra Rhodes, Swarovski, Philip Treacy, Vivienne Westwood, and Matthew Williamson. All have been brought on board by leading fashion stylist and Battersea supporter Hilary Alexander.

On Thursday 1 November, are unique and functional canine creations were unveiled at Battersea’s annual charity fundraiser, stylishly adorning Battersea dogs who are enjoying time out of their kennels at the Collars & Coats Gala Ball, held at Battersea Evolution.

Fashion followers and dog lovers need not wait until then however as they can bid on one of the incredible creations when they go on auction online. It’s an unmissable opportunity for animal lovers to get their paws on the most desirable accessories for their pets knowing all money raised will go towards the charity’s work helping over 7,000 abandoned and unwanted dogs and cats each year.”

Trevor’s Says “The Pickett Dog Coat we have created has a synergy with our ethos as it’s a practical but exotic handcrafted piece. We have designed our coat to be durable, using Ostrich leather, and this makes it a coat for life that in time will have a rich patina. We want the dog who wears it to feel comfortable & naturally warm. Our coat is a classic, like a 411 Bristol – it’s stylish & understated. When we designed the item, we imagined a dog with elegance. It’s for a dog that is wearing its coat with pride, not embarrassment! I think a dog should walk the walk, not being aware of getting noticed but getting noticed nevertheless. Our Pickett Dog will have all eyes on him at the Collars & Coats Gala Ball. As a huge supporter of all that Battersea does in helping unwanted and abandoned dogs and cats, we couldn’t have been happier to be involved in this initiative”

We were delighted to be a part of such an amazing event raising a huge amount of money to support such a great charity.
