The Art of Personal Gifting

One of the many challenges at Christmas is to get the right gift for the right person. And even when you tick a box on the many wish lists of your loved ones, some gifts might end up seeming a bit more practical than personal. But there is an easy way to give your gift that little something extra that makes it special when opened on this year’s Christmas Day.

Personalisation has a long-standing history in British culture stemming from indistinguishable clothing (e.g. uniforms) to be easily told apart. But with the time embossing or engraving initials on personal items developed into giving a sense of belonging and in a world of returns and refunds, it also resembles longevity. Looking back at nostalgic items that were passed on to us from our grandparents, the current zeitgeist is going back to a focus on a personal connection to everything you purchase.

Here at Pickett we have been offering Embossing as a service since the very start. Most of our items can be personalised with initials, dates or names in blind, silver or gold, such as a cufflink or jewellery box, a wallet or even a new briefcase. However, we are also able to bespokely make a die block for you with your crest or even hand-writing for that special message. Our in-house embossing service is able to turn around items between 3-7 days, but if you order now, you are still in time for getting your favourite Pickett gift personalised for an extra special Christmas this year.
